MICRO30 - Laboratory decontamination unit

The scalable, high-capacity electric batch system built for bioproduction facilities and high-containment labs

The MICRO30 is the industrial-grade evolution of our standard electric models. It is specifically engineered for labs that need to bridge the gap between small-batch processing and high-volume bioproduction. By utilizing a modular rack-mounted design, it offers a unique combination of high daily capacity and ease of maintenance.

  • Capacity: Up to 395 gallons per day (1,500 l per day) (standard) – up to 790 gallons per day (3,000 l per day) (double batch option)
  • Technology: Batch
  • Energy: electric with energy recovery section (3 x 480 V – 60 Hz
    11 kW / 13 A)
  • Effluent BSL: BSL1, BSL2, BSL3

Produced in series, available from stock and tested in our facility before shipment. Fully operational as soon as plugged, no servicing required.

The bridge between lab-scale & industrial-scale

There is a critical gap in most decontamination product lines, the point where standard lab units can no longer keep up with growing effluent volumes, but full custom industrial systems represent more investment and complexity than the project justifies. The MICRO30 by Actini Group was designed to fill that gap precisely.

With a treatment capacity of up to 395 gallons per day in its standard configuration and up to 790 gallons per day with the double decontamination tank option the MICRO30 serves vaccine manufacturers, biotech production sites, high-containment research programs, and university facilities that need genuine industrial throughput without departing from the plug-and-play simplicity of the Actini lab range.

Built on the same patented all-electric thermal technology as the MICRO, the MICRO30 scales capacity without scaling complexity. And unlike custom-built systems, it ships from stock, arrives tested, and is operational from day one.

Scalability built into the design

What sets the MICRO30 apart from every other unit in the lab range is its built-in upgrade path. The standard version ships with a single decontamination tank. When your throughput needs grow, a second decontamination tank can be added directly to the existing unit, doubling daily treatment capacity without replacing the system, without additional floor space, and without a new installation project.

This modularity is not an afterthought. It is a core design principle that allows facilities to invest at the right level today and scale on their own timeline, protecting capital investment and eliminating the disruption of a full system replacement when operational demands increase.

Maintenance without downtime

High-throughput decontamination systems traditionally come with high maintenance overhead. The MICRO30 breaks that pattern with a rack-mounted decontamination tank design that allows the process tanks to be pulled out on rails for inspection, cleaning, and servicing without any disassembly of the surrounding system. Maintenance access is direct, fast, and requires no specialized tooling, minimizing downtime and keeping your decontamination workflow running on schedule.

Key Highlights

capacité

Up to 790 gallons per day

The double batch option delivers the highest electric batch throughput in the Actini lab range. This makes the MICRO30 the right choice for high-volume bioproduction and research environments.

Ajout - scalable - cuve

Scalable by design

Start with one decontamination tank and add a second when your needs grow. This allows you to double capacity without replacing the unit or expanding its footprint.

maintenance

Easy maintenance

Process tanks slide out on racks for direct access during maintenance. This design eliminates disassembly time and keeps the unit operational with minimal interruption.

Energie electricité

100% electric with energy recovery

No steam supply required. The integrated heat exchanger recovers thermal energy from the cooling phase, cutting electricity consumption by up to 75% and eliminating the need for chilled water entirely.

supervision

PLC-Controlled Touch Screen Supervision

Every step of the decontamination process, from contaminated liquid collection through to decontaminated effluent discharge, is managed and monitored via a dedicated touch screen interface on the front of the unit.

Checklist

Validated decontamination at every cycle

Multi-point temperature sensors including the coldest point of the circuit confirm treatment efficiency at each cycle, guaranteeing consistent F0 50 performance with full traceability.

Decontamination cycle

  • Heat treatment:
    275°F (135°C)  for 2 min. (adjustable)  F0 50
    or 250°F (121°C) for 20 min.  F0 20
  • Decontamination tank: 1.2-gallon (possibility to double with a second decontamination tank)
  • Automatic start of treatment cycles according to the level of effluent
  • Ensured containment of contaminated effluent with enhanced safety devices
  • Continuous operation thanks to the collecting tank located before the kill tank so as not to have to stop the use of the unit during the treatment cycle

Design

  • Patented plug-and-play unit
  • Components: storage tank with safety valve and vent filter, batch decontamination tank and heat exchanger with energy recovery section
  • Compact footprint: 53’’ x 79’’ (1,350 x 2,000 mm) – Height : 81’’ (2,050 mm)
  • Cooling located after the decontamination tank which saves energy since there is no need to heat and then cool the decontamination tank
  • Gravity drainage
  • Sealed unit: the buffer tank and treatment section is inside the system
  • Leak detection system: alarms and optional visual control with transparent viewing panels
  • Automatic stop of the effluent discharge in case of an energy failure

Available Options

Performance & Safety

Double Decontamination Tank The single most impactful upgrade available for the MICRO30. Adding a second decontamination tank to the existing unit doubles daily treatment capacity to 790 gallons per day, with no additional floor space required and no new installation project. The second tank integrates directly into the existing PLC supervision system and is accessible on the same pull-out rack system as the primary tank.

Retention Tank with Level Sensor Connected to an Alarm For facilities where containment security demands an additional safety margin, the retention tank option adds a secondary containment vessel equipped with a level sensor wired to an alarm. Any unexpected effluent accumulation triggers an immediate alert, giving your safety team the response window needed before any risk of overflow or uncontrolled discharge.

Lift System When your facility’s layout does not allow for gravity-fed drainage, the lift system ensures reliable effluent evacuation by raising the treated liquid to the required discharge height, regardless of floor level or drain configuration.

Extra Storage Capacity For production environments with sustained high effluent flow rates, the extended external storage tank option increases collection capacity ahead of the decontamination tanks, preventing bottlenecks during peak operational periods.

Maintenance & Traceability

Complete CIP (Cleaning in Place) Extends automated cleaning to the entire MICRO30 system, including the collecting tank, with no manual intervention or disassembly required. Cleaning cycles run on schedule automatically, maintaining internal system integrity and keeping the unit audit-ready at all times.

Access Control and Remote Machine Control Restricts system interaction to authorized personnel only, while enabling remote monitoring and operational management from any point in the facility. Essential for multi-unit production sites and environments where physical access to the unit is limited or controlled.

Batch Report for Cycle Traceability Every cycle automatically documented ,parameters, temperatures, and timestamps captured and stored without manual input. A complete, inspection-ready compliance record is generated at every single cycle. This record is available on demand for quality reviews and regulatory audits.
