Continuous pH neutralization systems

Automated pH control for continuous effluent streams

ACTINI CNS systems deliver automated, continuous pH neutralization for liquid effluents from continuous decontamination systems prior to discharge. Engineered for high flow rates, CNS systems combine reliable pH control with a compact footprint to support efficient site integration.

They also handle wastewater streams from washdown, CIP (clean-in-place), cleaning operations, and other acidic or alkaline process sources.

What is a continuous pH neutralization system?

A Continuous pH Neutralization System (CNS) is an inline wastewater treatment system engineered to adjust acidic or alkaline liquid streams in real time without stopping or holding process flows.

Effluent enters the Polyethylene (PE) neutralization tank and control tank where automated sensors actively monitor pH levels. Acid or caustic reagents are automatically injected to achieve exact discharge parameters before the liquid passes through the final outlet.

Key applications for CNS systems

Designed specifically for continuous or variable high-flow wastewater sources, the CNS series treats:

  • Continuous decontamination effluents: Inline pH adjustment for continuous biowaste thermal treatment systems.

  • CIP & washdown operations: Treatment of variable acidic or alkaline cleaning solutions from CIP cycles and facility washdown streams.

  • Wide-range pH industrial effluents: Two-stage neutralization options capable of handling extreme inlet pH levels from pH 0 to 14.

  • High-temperature effluents: Cooling and treatment of hot liquid discharges with optional plate heat exchangers for temperatures exceeding 140°F (60°C).

Operational Advantages of Continuous Neutralization

  • Uninterrupted flow management: Handles continuous flow rates and peak surge volumes up to 79.2 gpm (18,000 L/h) without production holds.

  • Single or two-stage precision: Single-stage configuration converts pH 2 – 12 down to pH 5.5 – 9.5, while optional two-stage setups process extreme pH 0–14 down to pH 6.5 – 8.

  • Compact footprint: Space-saving skid layout engineered for easy integration into existing mechanical rooms and industrial utility spaces.

  • Corrosion-resistant PE construction: Polyethylene tanks and chemical dosing components provide high resistance against aggressive chemicals.
